Terms of Use

Effective July 1, 2026, when MMO Reconnect opened for accounts and character claims. Updated September 2026.

MMO Reconnect is a small, player-driven project run under Append Only LLC. By using the site, you agree to these terms. We will update this page as the site grows, and continuing to use MMO Reconnect after a change means you accept it.

Who can use this site

You must be 18 or older to create an account. If you are not, please do not sign up.

Signing in

You can sign in with Discord, with a code sent to your email, or with a passkey once you have added one. If you use Discord, we use your Discord login once, when you sign in, to read your basic profile, and we never store your Discord access token. Signing in does not add you to any Discord server; to join our community server, use the invite link on your profile whenever you like.

Your relationship with Discord itself is governed by Discord's own terms, not ours. How we handle your email and passkeys is covered in Privacy & Copyright.

The honor system

MMO Reconnect works on the honor system. Many of us left these worlds decades ago, with no old account to log into and nothing to prove. Claims here are self-asserted: you tell us who you were, and we help the right people find you. We do not verify claims against any game's actual account records, because for most old MMOs that is not even possible.

Be honest. Claim characters you actually played. Do not claim a character to impersonate or harass whoever really played it.

Visibility is yours to control

Every claim has a visibility level: Public (shows up everywhere, including the global roster), Findable (the default, shows up in search and on server or guild pages, but not the global roster), or Private (visible only to you). You choose the level when you make a claim, and you can change it any time.

What you agree not to do

Do not scrape or bulk-harvest data from the site.
Do not use anything you find here to harass, stalk, or harm someone.
Do not create accounts by automated means, or create multiple accounts to evade a suspension.
Do not sell, transfer, or share your account.
Do not try to interfere with the site's operation, including working around rate limits.
Do not use the site for anything illegal.

Content you submit

Character names, guild names, and any other free text you enter are yours. By submitting them, you confirm they are honest to your memory and not meant to impersonate or harm a real person, and you give MMO Reconnect the right to store and display them as part of running the site. That's it. We are not licensing your content out, selling it, or using it for anything beyond showing it to other people looking for you.

Moderation

There's no admin panel yet, but there's never zero recourse. If a claim, guild page, or account needs to be hidden or removed, we can do that by hand. If you spot a problem, tell us on Discord or email privacy@mmoreconnect.com. We can hide content or suspend an account for violating these terms, at our discretion.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account any time from Settings. Deletion is real and immediate: your Handle, email, Discord link, and any passkeys are erased. See Privacy & Copyright for exactly what that means and what stays behind.

Game names and trademarks

MMO Reconnect is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Blizzard Entertainment, Darkpaw Games, Square Enix, or any other game publisher. Game, server, and guild names are used only to describe who and where you played. Our own branding is original work. The World of Warcraft and World of Warcraft: Forever logos and the World of Warcraft class icons and race portraits are Blizzard's, shown unmodified for non-commercial use under Blizzard's published trademark guidelines and the image license in its Legal FAQ. MMO Reconnect is free to use. It carries no advertising, sells nothing, and takes no sponsorship or affiliate money. Adding any of those would end the license the official logos are shown under, and the logos come down before it happens. MMO Reconnect may pay to promote itself, and it still takes money from no one.

No warranty

MMO Reconnect is a small, early-stage project, provided as-is. We work hard to keep it reliable, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, MMO Reconnect and Append Only LLC are not liable for damages arising from your use of the site.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska.
